Glenorie Probus Club Welcomes You

Community is the bedrock of our society. The communities of Galston, Glenorie and its surrounds have always been strong and vibrant. Glenorie Probus Club

It was only other day while sitting in my car at Galston shops waiting for my daughter to have a rapid antigen test for travel, that I smiled as I watched the locals go by.

So many people stopped for a chat with a friend or to say “Hi, how’s it going?” I had the distinct feeling that any one of these people would drop everything to help a friend or neighbour. Yet our community is spread out, with farms, acreages and satellite villages, and often the opportunity to connect is illusive.

Many of our older folk have been in the area for years yet still find it difficult to maintain connection on a regular basis. Others have discovered our beautiful bushland environment and have chosen to retire here. To address this need Probus has established the Glenorie Probus Club.

We meet on the fourth Wednesday of each month at 11.00am. The Glenorie RSL has generously provided us with a designated room to meet, enjoy a guest speaker, plan interesting and exciting activities and socialise.

Following the meeting members enjoy a delicious lunch at the RSL Club. Recent activities have included a visit to the Wildwood Nursery in Bilpin and the Canoelands Orchard. Future planned events include a Riverboat Postman luncheon cruise on the Hawkesbury and Yulefest at the Carrington Hotel in Katoomba. Additionally, we will enjoy various outdoor activities, lunches and movie dates with our new friends.

The Coffee Club meets every second Wednesday of the month 10.00am at the Geranium Cottage in Middle Dural.

We would love to welcome new members. If you are interested, please call or email P: 9653 1022 E: [email protected]
