Galston Goes National

Galston Swimming Club recently sent their biggest team in recent years to the Australian Age Swimming Championships, held this year in the exotic location of Homebush, Sydney. Our six individual and six relay swimmers performed amazingly well for such a small club. Laura Boll finished 12th in both the 100 and 200 back, Sam Loria finished 17th in the 50 free, whilst Olivia Charlton, Jack Charlton, Jake Marsden and Daniel Steer all had top 30 finishes. To put that into some sort of perspective, they were all in the top 30 swimmers in the entire country….not bad for a little club like ours. Head Coach Stacy Harding was impressed, but already has plans for an even bigger 2019. If you want to take your swimming to the next level, why not come aboard for the ride…it’s going to be hair-raising.

Many thanks to Active Body Physiotherapy in Castle Hill for their kind sponsorship of the team, and once again thank you to the Galston Bendigo bank, which supports the whole club with an annual grant. Galston IGA continues to support the club on a weekly basis, supplying all the produce at no charge for our fund raising BBQ’s.
