GALSTON CONCERTS: MUSICAL BLESSINGS

By Robert Harris

It’s a case of Stop then Go, Go, Go for The Galston Concerts in coming months.

The concerts team at Galston Uniting Church have noted the ongoing unpredictability of current health concerns, deciding to postpone the final event of the 2020 series scheduled for 22 November.

“In fairness to the performers, audience and district supporters like Galston Community News we needed to make decisions” says series co-director Robert Harris.

“If pandemic risks diminish in the coming month or so we may decide to create a special celebratory one-off concert to round out a frustrating year but it seems more likely that we’ll err on the side of caution.”

“We’ll use summer months to re-schedule most of the performers and programs lost in 2020 to new dates in 2021 while polishing our promotional plans for a full speed ahead re-start in the new year.”

“Our audience loves the Sunday afternoon experience – the players, the mix of different musical styles, the relaxed presentation.”

“Galston Uniting is a beautiful space, with a great sound for live music. Afternoon sunlight streams through the stained glass. It’s a magical ambience.”

“The musical blessings of a Yamaha grand piano and a heritage pipe organ, both maintained to Classical concert standards, make for just about a perfect package – so next year here we come!”

“Until then our newsletters allow our audience to enjoy great music at home, this month’s e-bulletin sharing music of Spring, flowers and a hint of Halloween.”
