Hills fitness enthusiasts will now have more spaces to dip, crunch, row and press with the installation of new gym equipment at two Hills parks.
Hills Shire Mayor Dr Michelle Byrne said the new equipment had been installed at Crestwood Reserve, Baulkham Hills and Harold West Reserve, Carlingford.
“These outdoor gyms are going to become incredibly popular with our residents,” Mayor Byrne said.
“Over the last few years it’s become quite clear that residents want parks to be more versatile. They don’t just want our parks and reserves to be places where they can play traditional sports or go for a stroll; people want to be able to have a vigorous personal workout.”
“These two new outdoor gyms are as good as it gets. They feature equipment that you would expect to find in a gym and they’re free for our residents to use in our wonderful park settings.”
“These new gyms will help our community lead more fit and healthy lifestyles at times when we know they are time poor. Having the convenience of an outdoor gym within walking distance of your home is a huge plus.”
The projects were completed for a combined cost of $125,000.
The Crestwood Reserve gym will feature 15 exercise stations:
*Cross trainer | *Recumbent bike | *Spinning bike |
*Hand bike | *Chest press | *Seated Row |
*Lat pull down | *Shoulder press | *Pull Up |
*Assisted pull up | *Dips | *Leg raise |
*Leg press | *Bench | *Plyometric boxes |
