Udo Hoppe of Dural is a valued member of the Dural Country Club Fishing Club and a deserving recipient of the Sportsperson of the Year Award held at the Dural Country Club on 7th February last.
He was named last year’s Dural Fishing Club’s Champion of Champion, being the Charter Fishing Champion and Runnerup for Estuary and Open Fishing Championships.
Udo is extensively involved in the Fishing Club organising the monthly charter boat fishing and annual events for the year. This involves the studying of tide charts and moon phases for the times to fish for different species for the best results. He has also designed a spread sheet to keep all the Club’s fishing records. Udo has his own boat and happy to share a fishing day’s outing with other members of the Club.
The Fishing Club have regular four day trips away fishing up and down the East Coast and Udo and his committee organise all the accommodation, charter boats and estuary fishing spots.
