Residents will have the chance to shop, swap and sell pre-loved treasures when the Second-Hand Hornsby Market returns to the Coronation Street Precinct next month.
The community market will be held on Sunday, July 12, from 9 am to 1 pm, bringing together a range of local stallholders offering second-hand household items in support of the local reuse economy.
The Hornsby Shire Council say the market aims to keep reusable goods in circulation and out of landfill, while creating a central space for residents to browse affordable second-hand finds.
Shoppers can expect a variety of stalls selling clothing, toys, furniture, books, sporting equipment, bric-a-brac and other household goods.
The market is open exclusively to community stallholders, with commercial traders not permitted to participate. All items offered for sale must be second-hand.
Stallholder registrations will open on June 4 at 9 am, with bookings essential for those wishing to secure a site.
Each stallholder will be allocated a 2.4m by 2.4m site and provided with a marquee, trestle table and chair. Entry to the market is free for both shoppers and stallholders.
Visitors attending the event are encouraged to bring reusable water bottles, with a water refill station available on site. A variety of cafés and food options will also be available nearby along Coronation Street.
Portable toilets will be available for stallholders, while additional public amenities can be found at Hornsby Park and Hornsby Train Station.
Public transport is encouraged, with the market located approximately 150 metres from Hornsby Train Station. Limited street parking and surrounding car parks will also be available.
The Second-Hand Hornsby Market will be held at the Coronation Street Precinct, on the corner of Jersey Lane and Beattie Lane, Hornsby.
