Bounty Reserve Playground Upgraded for All Kids

A newly redeveloped playground at Bounty Reserve is providing families in the Hawkesbury region with an upgraded outdoor space focused on inclusive play and community connection.

Located on Wetherill Crescent in Bligh Park, the new play space replaces a worn playground with a contemporary design offering a wide range of play experiences. The installation includes a climbing fort complete with monkey bars and a slide, as well as a flying fox designed for older children seeking more adventurous play.

Younger children have their own dedicated area with toddler-friendly equipment, while a swing set featuring both toddler and standard seats ensures options for different age groups.

Accessibility has been prioritised throughout the design, with an accessible carousel and an in-ground trampoline encouraging inclusive play opportunities. Surrounding surfaces have been upgraded with rubber and mulch softfall to improve safety.

Beyond the play equipment, the park now includes new picnic tables, seating areas, landscaped gardens and walking paths. Shade structures and a water fountain have also been added to improve comfort for families spending extended time at the reserve.

Additional upgrades extend to the surrounding infrastructure. The nearby car park now includes improved access features such as a pram ramp and a designated accessible parking space. The park’s fencing has also been enhanced with Dharug-inspired artwork acknowledging the area’s cultural heritage.

The redevelopment was supported by funding from the Australian Government’s Investing in Our Communities Grant, alongside contributions from Hawkesbury City Council as part of its asset renewal program.

A community celebration is scheduled for 18 March 2026, with families invited to enjoy an afternoon event featuring desserts, gelato and an Easter egg hunt for local children.
