Local artist Val Wright will exhibit her watercolour paintings in her Galston studio from 21st to 28th October 2016. The paintings, together with a range of greetings card prints of the pictures, will be for sale. Ten per cent of all sales will go to Anglicare through St Jude’s Anglican Church, Dural to help those in difficult circumstances, particularly approaching the Christmas season.
Val and husband David arrived from UK as migrants in October 2013 and settled in Galston soon thereafter. Val paints in watercolours, chiefly animals, birds and still life. After extensively travelling in the outback last year she has been inspired by Australian animals and birds in particular. She has exhibited many times before moving to Australia and has painted numerous animal portrait commissions in which she specialises.
