Vintage Spring Fair Brings History to Life at Fagan Park

The Vintage Spring Fair at Fagan Park on Sunday, 4th October, brought locals and visitors from further afield onto the grounds of the Fagan family farm, where the Friends of Fagan Park opened the gates to a day built around history, food and community. The weather cooperated fully, and people arrived keen to wander a property with its own story.

The Friends ran a collectibles market stall, where visitors could browse for hidden treasures. Nearby, sizzling sausages and onions wafted across the grounds, and a spread of refreshments, homemade jams, and other goodies kept the hungry and the curious well looked after.

Other groups joined in. The Galston CWA, Persimmon Place and the Dural and District Historical Society all took part, and stallholders added handmade children’s clothing and denim articles. Together they turned the market into a busy, cheerful gathering.

The park parade and display drew some of the biggest attention. The Friends showed their restored heritage vehicles and working engines, including Puff the Tragic Wagon and the Gorge vintage fire truck. The volunteers who look after them chatted warmly with visitors throughout the day. Several cars from the Riley Car Club added a further touch of vintage charm.

Two local women, Tracey and Amanda, arrived in vintage-inspired attire that suited the occasion. The Friends of Fagan Park thank everyone who attended and contributed to the open day. The fair at Netherby was a memorable celebration of community spirit, history and a beautiful spring day.
