The Rockets Disabled Tenpin Bowling Team (formerly The Hornsby Rockets) wish to send a big THANK YOU to Galston Bendigo Bank for the generous donation of $3000 to assist with their transportation costs in Queensland this year.
The Rockets are a group of disabled bowlers ranging in age from 25 years to 44 years. They have a wide range of disabilities but they also have many ABILITIES – tenpin bowling being one of them!
The bowlers, with their parents and carers, travel wide and far and attend many competitions both intra and interstate. Recent competitions were held at Orange, Canberra, Illawarra, Wetherill Park, Rooty Hill and Campbelltown with Wagga being included this year.
In June, we have 13 bowlers and their parents/carers travelling to Mt Gravatt in Queensland to attend the 32nd National Tenpin Bowling Championship For Persons With A Disability. Every year this competition is held in a different state and sunny Queensland has it for 2020.
The Rockets excel at these competitions with many members over the years appearing in the NSW State Teams and obtaining many medals and trophies. These much needed funds will help enormously with our costs so THANK YOU Galston Bendigo Bank, without your support we could not attend the competition.
