TEAM WORK PAYS OFF FOR THE SMITH BROTHERS

Following on from their success at the Central Coast Cup, Brothers David and Peter Smith ventured south of the border for the 2018 Victorian Senior Dirt Track Championships held at the Albury Wodonga Complex.

In what turned out to be trying condition, both brothers were at the pointy end of the heats, until a blown motor put a spanner in the works for David. Peter who was in ore of his new Honda CRF450 STR8 straight out of the crate, handed it over to his brother who in the next race won up against far more powerful machines.

Peter then switched to help his brother climb to the top step of the podium helping him to win the Victorian State Championships in the Pro 250cc, 6th in the Pro Open on a 250cc, 3rd in the MX Open and 3rd in the Pro 450cc. While Peter concentrated on his brother’s success he still managed to finish 6th in the Pro 250cc and 7th in the Pro Open.

What is more impressive is the way the two brothers always come together as one to share the glory and their love of dirt track racing.

To top the year off, in his club, David finished first in the 250cc, 450cc and the Senior Open Meeting Trophy and the Senior Club Championship.
