SWIFT START TO 2019

The Galston Netball Club has kicked off its 2019 season with an inaugural ‘Expo Day’. The free event was held on the morning of Sunday 10th February at Galston Recreation Reserve, seeing existing and new members finding out more about the club, while enjoying a free BBQ breakfast, sno-cones, face painting and a jumping castle. The main highlight of the morning? The opportunity to meet Paige Hadley and Maddy Turner from the NSW Swifts. From all of us, thank you ladies for your time on the day, your enthusiasm in joining our players for photos, autographs and netball drills ensured everyone left with big smiles on their faces. The club would also like to take this opportunity to thank NSW Office of Sport, Bendigo Bank, Camelot Amusements, Eric’s Tender Meats, Bean Everywhere and Fab Fun for their assistance in making the day a great one for all.

Term 1 has seen the commencement of 2 one-hour clinics, held on Thursday afternoons at the Galston Netball Courts. The focus of these clinics is for young players to learn the fundamental skills in a fun environment, with lots of games, and music pumping. The clinic options available are; pre-season training for those registered in the 2019 season competition for Galston, or for those who don’t want to commit to playing the winter competition, a NSG skills clinic. Both clinics require the participants to be registered, and spots are limited.

Junior players will be organised shortly into teams and will be able to start preparing for their 2019 season. We wish all our players an enjoyable pre- season.

Galston Netball Club fields teams aged 6 years to adult in the Hills District Netball Association winter competition. For further information about winter registrations or if you are interested in joining our skills sessions in 2019, please contact secretary. [email protected]. And, make sure you like the Galston Netball Club Facebook page to stay updated.
