Don’t forget to come along to the St Benedict’s fete from 10 am on the morning of Sunday 14th March. This fete has a great reputation in the district for its fruit and veg, cakes, flowers, chocolate wheel, barbecue, food, kids’ fun and everything else that one would associate with a traditional country fair. Easter celebrations
Easter is early this year with Good Friday falling on Friday 30 March. Services and special commemorations will be held at St Benedict’s right through the Easter period. To check for particulars and times, visit the parish website www.arcadia.dbb.org.au and click on the News-Events button.
In the Lenten period leading up to Easter St Benedict’s parishioners have held weekly Lenten Group meetings in three locations throughout the district. These have been wonderful opportunities for the participants to discuss aspects of their faith and the true meaning of Easter.
Also throughout the Lenten period the parish has taken part in ‘The Light Is On’ initiative where the church is lit and open on Friday evening until 23 March between 7 and 8pm. Anyone is welcome to drop into St Benedict’s on these evenings to take advantage of this opportunity to take time out for quiet reflection on faith and life.
