Spring School Holidays Guide

Fun is in full bloom these school holidays at The Hills Shire Library Service.

Mayor of The Hills Shire, Dr Michelle Byrne is encouraging children to get involved with all the great activities on offer online this spring.

“Our programs have moved online these school holidays to comply with safe social distancing and the latest public health orders that are in place,” Mayor Byrne said.

“While we can’t physically enjoy a workshop together, library members can still access fun activities and resources online, including virtual educational workshops, fun podcasts and interactive activities. You can also order a Click & Collect boredom buster pack for pick-up from your local Hills Shire Library branch, which includes seven engaging stories and three fun, fact-filled books as well as a selection of creative activity sheets.

“No matter what your child’s age or interests are, there’s something to keep everyone busy these school holidays,” Mayor Byrne added.

Online school holiday activities include:

  • Online workshops and activities with your favourite authors including Matt Cosgrove, Todd Parr and Rob Biddulph;
  • Click & Collect Boredom Buster packs;
  • Storytime Anywhere;
  • Podcasts for families;
  • Virtual workshops for teens including digital art, logic games and illustration; and
  • Get Ready for Book Week – Curious Creatures with Wild Minds digital escape room.
