Riding through Winter!

Every month is a busy month at Galston Equestrian Club with events and riding opportunities for members. The cold, windy days we have recently experienced have not held us back at all!

On Sunday 28 July we held a Members Only Dressage Competition. There were classes on offer from Preparatory through to Elementary, and our riders dressed casually and did not have to plait their horses. The day ran very well and riders enjoyed a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. We successfully introduced electronic scoring, a faster system which does away with paper results. Thanks to all involved for embracing the new technology. Special thanks also go to our long term sponsors Horseland Dural and Coprice who provided amazing prizes for our winners and place getters.

August has been a big month for our show jumpers and our show jumping phase head has been very busy. The monthly Sandy Lucas Clinic was held on Tuesday 6 August, which was well attended. This was followed by the very popular Clear Rounds Show Jumping held on Sunday 11 August. Riders braved freezing and windy conditions and had a fabulous day. Classes were offered on two arenas and ran from cross rails right up to 110 cm for our bravest riders.

Positive Partnerships continues to have a strong following and riders enjoyed a fun morning in the milky sunshine on Tuesday 13 August. Riders were able to access a range of the GEC equipment and get their horses to try new things in a relaxed atmosphere.

GEC is a friendly and welcoming club which caters for riders of all abilities and there really is something for every rider in our calendar.
