The new 10-chair renal dialysis unit initially became operational at Hornsby in February, and has already provided over one thousand dialysis treatments.

Having this life-saving treatment available in Hornsby means, patients that require it are no longer forced to travel to other hospitals in Sydney. I know this makes a significant difference to those patients and their families.

This new facility is a satellite dialysis unit of Royal North Shore Hospital and provides patients with treatment six days a week.

When I was first elected in 2011, the upgrade to our local hospital was my number one priority and I am extremely satisfied to see Stage 2A is nearing competition. This final stage of Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital’s redevelopment will include;

• Fit out of two rehabilitation inpatients units
• Refurbishment & expansion of psychiatric care centre
• Outpatient ambulatory care services, including a day chemotherapy unit
• Expansion of oral health services
• Integration of community health services
• A helipad[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
