Register Now for Seniors Festival

By Dr Peter Gangemi - Mayor of The Hills Shire Council

Council has organised some fun and educational activities for Seniors Festival that I know our community will truly enjoy.

So, if you are 60 years and over, you can now register for free for the following activities:

* Navigating Council Services Online Workshop at the Harvey Lowe Pavilion in Castle Hill Showground on March 30 at 11am: Learn how to use Council’s online services, including rates and the library. Morning tea will also be served as part of this event.

* The Duke Film Screening at Castle Towers on March 31 at 10am: The Duke is based on the true story of 60-year-old taxi driver, Kempton Bunton, who steals Goya’s portrait of the Duke of Wellington from the National Gallery in London.

He then sends ransom notes, saying that he will return the painting when the government invests more in care for the elderly. What follows is a heart-warming campaign to help support the British senior community.
