RAMBLINGS FROM ROUGHLEY HOUSE

What a difference the February rains have made to Roughley House. The gardens have returned to their green lushness, it seems, almost overnight.

At the beginning of the year, there wasn’t much green to be seen, but it returned for the first of our 2020 afternoons house tours at “Jazz at The Pines”. So far, we have had groups such as the Oakhill/ Dural Probus Club visiting the old house and the Convict Road Interpretive Centre to enjoy the experience and learn more about our local history.

The “Jazz at The Pines” afternoons are conducted by the Hills-Kellyville Rotary Club. The bands schedule so far this year being The Geoff Power Jazz Band and The Greg Poppleton Jazz Band. These afternoons continue to be a very popular attraction with people attending, bringing their lunch and drinks with coffee, tea and homemade cakes available at a small cost. For the comfort of everyone tables and chairs are supplied by The Hills Shire Council. Why not come along.
