Northholm Students raise over $29,000 for Destiny Rescue

Congratulations to Northholm Grammar School Year 11 Students (Ella Cotrona, Emma Mercieca, Ciaran Dyson and Denique Shai-Hee) who raised $29,200 for Destiny Rescue.

Northholm coordinates a Year 11 Leadership Program that seeks to develop the important skills of self-awareness, communication, influence and learning agility. Part of the program is providing students with the opportunity to work collaboratively in developing a Leadership Project that will make a difference within the community. For this project, our students have worked tirelessly in raising awareness and money in addressing human trafficking and slavery.

The Masquerade Dinner held on Saturday 22 June concluded the project and was an outstanding success. The event was extremely well supported by the wonderful Northholm Community including students, staff, parents and Alumni. Special thanks to Matt Kean MP and Jim Taggart for their amazing support on the evening.

Principal, Mr Chris Bradbury commented that “the purpose of education is about the holistic development of our young men and women. Academic excellence (scholarship) is an important component of this narrative, however it must be strongly connected to the social, emotional, physical and spiritual development (Excellence and Character) of each person”. He went on to say how proud he was that “our students are committed to helping others through their generosity, integrity and respect”.
