Alpha program starts

The parish began its series of Alpha meetings in May and these will continue through until the first week in July. Meetings, which take place over a shared meal on Monday evenings between 6:30 – 8:30, give participants the opportunity to explore the Christian faith in a friendly environment. Alpha also allows those taking part the chance to think and talk about the big things of life. This program is open to anyone so if you would like to know more, please contact parish priest Father Bernard (0416032497) or parish secretary Sandra (0410587735) or email [email protected]. New Sacramental program

A series of sessions for young people continuing the sacramental program leading to the celebration of First Communion have been held during May. First Communion will take place on Sunday 3 June, which is also the Feast of Corpus Christi. This will make it a very special day for the parish.

The next Sacramental Program will begin in June, starting with a Parent Information Night on Monday 11 June. Confirmation will be held on Saturday 4 August.

Census Time

We’ve been doing some counting in the St Benedict’s parish with a census form being distributed at the weekend masses. The aim of having these filled in is to ensure our records are kept up to date as people move in and out of the parish. In May, too, we took part in the Diocesan head count. It’s no mean feat to try and count all those bobbing heads in the church!
