News from UnitingCare Galston Early Learning Centre

The month of February has been a productive and motivating month for the team here at Galston Early Learning as we have been working on our Work, Health and Safety Quality Area.

We have had an opportunity to connect with our families and the outer community through our annual working bee, to improve and re-assess our environment to ensure that it is all safe.

On the 2nd of February, despite all the rainy weather, we had many of our families and educators who volunteered their time to help us with replacing the old sand with new sand, weeding/mulching/hedging the gardens, and sorting all our indoor and outdoor equipment.

We would like to thank all the families and educators who came along to help us, your time was greatly appreciated by all and the children have enjoyed playing with their brand new sand!

I would like to make a special mention to ‘Langlands Landscape Supplies’ for providing some labouring help and for allowing us to use their trucks!

On Tuesday the 12th of February the children enjoyed a visit from Happy Healthy Harold. This incursion was planned to help the children and educators to reflect upon the importance of our healthy eating habits and daily exercise. We hope that this incursion will spark more discussion on healthy eating and allow the children to share their voices/opinions on how we could improve our weekly menu plans.

If you would like to come and have a look at the centre or ask any questions regarding our Educational Program, please feel free to contact the Centre Director Daniela Balmer on 9653 1475.
