Nati Roses a Brief History

Nati Roses had it’s origins in 1944, when Giuseppe (Joe) Nati purchased 5 acres of land in North Ryde. Here he grew top quality flowers and quickly established himself as one of Sydney’s leading suppliers of fresh cut flowers to the local flower industry.

In 1964, Joe and his wife, Antoinette decided that they needed a larger area to grow their flowers so they purchased a 20 acre property at Middle Dural. They were now joined by their sons, Sam and Pat and the decision was made to concentrate solely on growing roses for the ever increasing demand for high quality blooms required for weddings and other social occasions. In 1972, Joseph decided to join the family business and he took over the marketing role.

In 1990 an expansion plan was put into place to ensure consistency of supply. This was achieved by the construction of greenhouses, which provided a controlled environment through heating, making possible year round production.

It was about this time that the family decided to open it’s doors to the public, providing an onsite shop where customers could purchase fresh flowers.

Nati Roses has always been involved in helping local charities and community projects. In 2009, Pat was awarded the’ Order of Australia’ for his services to charities, in particular the Special Olympics of Australia where he was the Chairman of the Fundraising Committee. In 2006 he was also awarded the title of ‘ Community Father of the Year’. Through positive radio and press coverage this involvement has helped raise the profile of Nati Roses.

Nati Roses is a member of the Hawkesbury Harvest Trail, an organisation which encourages tourists to visit farms in the Sydney basin and experience the local production in the area.
