Councillor Yvonne Keane has been elected to the role of Mayor of The Hills Shire at an extraordinary meeting of Council on Thursday 25 August 2016, with Councillor Robyn Preston elected as Deputy Mayor.
Mayor Keane thanked outgoing Mayor, Dr Michelle Byrne for her leadership and said she was grateful for the opportunity to become mayor in this ‘bonus’ year of Council.
Mayor Keane has announced that her priorities will include creating an inclusive and connected community, revisiting Council’s cultural strategy to support creative talent and ensuring quality planning around the new train stations, particularly the Castle Hill Showground master planning.
