Making History – 125 Years of Quality Education at Arcadia

Did you know that the name Arcadia was adopted in 1895 by local residents following the establishment of our beautiful school? Mr John B Shearston had travelled to Arcadia in Southern Greece and felt the local area to be equally idyllic. We couldn’t agree more! The philosophy of the school and community hasn’t changed with all. We work together to provide outstanding opportunities and the attention our students need to develop into confident, successful learners.

We are celebrating the 125 year anniversary of Arcadia Public School on Saturday May 4 and when better to do it than at the fabulous Arcadia Markets. A highlight of the day will be the opening of a time capsule sealed 50 years ago. What’s inside? You are invited to come along and find out! The big question is what to refill it with to mark the next 50 years – perhaps a photo of our 2019 school captains? Congratulations Amelie, Riley, Mary and Ashley, we’re proud of you and wish you well for this important year of leadership. As Mary said, “I’m so excited about the year ahead, being able to help the younger students and be a part of moving our school forward.”

Come along to Discover Arcadia on March 27 to hear about what makes Arcadia Public School such a great place to learn. Phone our friendly office staff on 9653 1207 or visit the school website for further information.
