Locals for Locals Awards now open

Nominations are now open for The Hills Shire Council’s annual Locals for Locals Awards – 2019 Sydney Hills Awards For Community Contribution.

The awards recognise individuals, community groups and organisations for their contributions to local business, community service, sports and recreation, arts and culture, environment and sustainability and education.

“The Local for Locals Awards are an opportunity to nominate someone you know who has made a positive contribution to The Hills community,” Mayor of The Hills Shire, Dr Michelle Byrne said.

“Help us to recognise these amazing people and groups who go above and beyond the call of duty and nominate them for a Locals for Locals Award,” Mayor Byrne added.

Nominations for the awards close 5pm Friday, August 2, with award winners being announced during a special presentation on Friday, August 30.

The presentation will also launch Council’s annual Orange Blossom Festival and the start of a month full of exciting and fun community events to take place this September.

Hills locals are encouraged to take the time to nominate their peers in this year’s Awards and help them receive the recognition they deserve.
