The Lions Club of West Pennant Hills Cherrybrook is again running its popular Cancer Research Raffle at local shopping centres in the Hornsby and Hills Shires, to help child cancer patients. The Club hasn’t been unable to fund raise for this cause for 3 years due to the CoVid Pandemic.
The club is endeavouring to raise $30,000 for the Westmead Hospital’s Cancer Research Unit to conduct a clinical trial for children with brain cancer. This trial will be one of the first in the world and jointly conducted in conjunction with London University. The success of this trial will be an important step toward giving child brain cancer patients hope and support.
Lions will be funding the equipment for the trial. The results of this trial will help medical specialists better understand and advance treatments and therapies for young child patients whilst supporting their families.
Our Lions members are keen to assist this worthy project so when you see Lions workers at your local shopping centre, please give them your generous support and encouragement. 100% of the funds raised by our volunteer members goes towards making this project happen.
