Lebanese Cooking Classes

Our love and passion of Lebanese food and cooking is contagious at Flame N Chooks, Dural. Since taking over the business four years ago we wanted our customers to identify our food with the Lebanese culture, hospitality, family, and friends.

We have established loyal customers that enjoy and appreciate our love of food and have decided to share it with you. Our Lebanese cooking classes will commence in March. They will cover a wide range of Lebanese cooking including vegetarian, vegan, gluten free, dairy free, and family meals.

The Lebanese cuisine includes an abundance of whole grains, fruits, vegetables, starches, fresh fish and seafood, fruit, vegetables, rice, poultry, and lamb. We will use a lavish amounts of garlic and olive oil, often seasoning with lemon juice, and a vast range of beans and legumes including chickpeas, and lentils.

An introducion to the herbs and spices that are used frequently which include mint, parsley, oregano, garlic, allspice, nutmeg, and cinnamon. Like most Mediterranean countries, much of what the Lebanese eat is dictated by the seasons and what is available. Therefore our cooking classes will be tailored around the season and what local produce is available.

In Lebanon entertaining and celebrations includes food and plenty of it. A popular way of serving food is mezze, an array of small dishes creating an assortment of colors, flavors, textures and aromas. Our cooking classes will cover many of the dishes that are offered in mezze. Family cuisine offers a range of dishes and we will cook many of these dishes in our classes and explore the exquisite food of the Lebanese cuisine which is both generous and abundant.

Sahteyn is a word you will often hear in a Lebanese home which means “ to your good health”, a welcome to join a family and share delicious food.

So we invite you to join our cooking classes where we will share our cuisine, culture and love of food. Contact us at Flame and Chooks 9651 7996 or contact us @Facebook FLAME N CHOOKS for further details and to book a spot in our next cooking class.
