Recently Dural Scouts have been busy collecting dictionaries, atlases, information, story and early reader books for children in Papua New Guinea.

Digicel PNG (a mobile phone company) has been building school libraries in Papua New Guinea under their foundation and so far, have built 21 school libraries. Kenthurst Rotary Club has an agreement with them to collect books for these libraries.

‘Karo’ from the Rotary Club of Kenthurst visited us at our Joeys/ Cubs meeting; she collected the books and shared her thanks and appreciation on behalf of the children in Papua New Guinea, many who have never seen a reading book.

If your child would like to experience community work that is rewarding like this, we have vacancies for 6-7 year old boys and girls to join ‘Joeys’.
