Heartfelt story

Eight year old Emika recently cut her hair off to donate to Variety, and raised just over $2400 in the process! Her hair will be made into wigs for children who have lost their hair due to illness.

After visiting Westmead Children’s Hospital on a few occasions, Emika was inspired by kids she met who had lost their hair during treatment for cancer. When Emika learnt that wigs could be made to help these kids, she straight away said she wanted to give her hair.

Emika had 38cm of her hair cut off in August – it was her first real haircut.

Thank you to KJR Productions for Emika’s pre-haircut photo shoot and Laura Jane Hair for doing the big chop. Massive thanks also to the generous locals that donated to Emika’s fundraiser. Such a great reminder of what an amazing community we live in, supported by wonderful people and businesses.
