Showcase highlights Northholm Grammar’s talented young musicians

With live performances reduced and restricted last year, it was a great thrill for Northholm’s Annual Music Showcase to once again light up the stage at the Hornsby RSL Club last month.

The Showcase is a highlight in Northholm’s performing arts calendar, with both curricular and co-curricular music students from Year 2 through to Year 12 showcasing their incredible talents.

Performing a wide range of music styles, the ensembles both large and small provided the captivated audience with a wonderful evening of entertainment.

There were works presented from the Years 5 and 6 Concert Band, the Symphonic Wind Ensemble, Concert Band, Stage Band One, Training Band, Primary Years Choir, Senior Choir, and Brass, Clarinet, Flute, String, Saxophone, Guitar and Percussion Ensembles. In addition, a special performance by the Year 12 HSC Music students was a standout moment.

The School’s vibrant music program is a vital part of life at Northholm, with more than a third of all students involved. The School has purpose-built Arts spaces to support a series of dynamic Creative and Performing Arts (CAPA) experiences.

Starting their CAPA education in Kindergarten, students are invited to explore the creativity within themselves and the world around them through deliberate, engaging and sustained practice. young musicians

The School offers students the chance to present several live performances throughout the year in what are very valuable opportunities to celebrate the years of hard work to learn their craft and display their accomplishments in front of a supportive audience of their teachers, peers, family and the general public.

The School is dedicated to developing outstanding music ability by inviting talented young musicians to apply for a Northholm Music Scholarship.

Welcoming students from all backgrounds, a scholarship allows students to grow their techniques and creativity while being supported by a caring team of educators. Scholarships applications are currently open; visit the Northholm website for more information. young musicians
