The Dale family have been growing geraniums for nearly forty years. Having graduated from accountancy and TV production Jim and Riva Dale together with their son Gary, have created what has become the largest wholesale supplier of geraniums in Australia.
Twenty years ago they purchased a rundown, heritage listed property, on Old Northern Road, Dural on which to establish a retail outlet for their plants. It was inevitable that a café/restaurant would become a natural extension to the site. Building the nursery and café was a DIY effort of the Dale family. The entire process took two years and a few sleepless nights but, with the help of local people and advice from a few professionals, the project slowly took shape. Geranium Cottage is a destination café. Customers can browse and purchase plants, buy gift lines and homemade jams, seek out antique garden tools in the old barn before enjoying an excellent coffee and a delicious snack or meal. The menus are constantly under review and
