GALSTON UNITING CHURCH

G’day friends, we trust that 2017 has started well for you. For those able to take a break, we hope that you are feeling refreshed!

We’ve had an interesting end to 2016 & beginning of 2017 – renovations! I won’t bore you with all the details, just to say that we’re doing our best to look after our wonderful home.

For those of you who’ve never visited – our church is large enough to seat more than 200 people, with assorted other rooms & meeting places, it’s a large space. On Sunday, 28 th Jan we had to shift everything in order to replace the 28-year- old carpet. We thought it would take hours… however, with the industrious efforts of everyone – we had the job totally done in 45 minutes! It was a wonder to be a part of, so many people working together. During the next week more volunteers kept on turning up to move things back into place & to rehang doors, reconnect sound equipment & many more jobs. We are all at our best when we work together.

So it’s looking very different to before – come & see us sometime!

As a result of all this work, some of our programs had a slightly delayed start to the year. However, everything is up & going now – there’s choirs, programs for kids & youth, craft groups, Bible Study, coffee groups & some gentle exercise groups – give us a call if you’d like information on anything we do

By the time you’re reading this we will have already commenced the Galston Concert program for 2017. As an addition to the program, the wonderful Foray Quintet will be returning for another performance on Sunday 12 th March from 2pm. Please contact our office for ticket information.

Well, I think that will do for now, next month I’ll be letting you all in on our Easter plans. Until then, take care, cheers, Geoff
