The Hills community will have a chance to discover local makers, food vendors and family activities at Spring Markets ’26 in Galston this October.
The event will be held at The Galston Club on Saturday, 17 October, from 1 PM to 5 PM. Hosted by Stonehouse Kitchen, the event will feature around 20 local stalls, live music, food vendors, children’s activities and a photo booth.
Romina Velazco, Marketing Coordinator at Lunaro Group, said the event was planned as an opportunity for the local community to come together.
“We wanted to give Galston a reason to come together on a spring afternoon, and a market felt like the most natural way to do it,” she said.
“The Club has always been a gathering place for the area, and we wanted to open the grounds to the local makers.”
The stallholder line-up will include a mix of handmade gifts, homewares and food, with many businesses based in the Hills.
Food vendors include Barbara’s Italian Catering and Acai Avenue, while The Brownie Lab and Velvet Bloom Sweets will cater to those looking for something sweet. Specialty Timber Products and Lovely Sunshine Crystals are among the makers attending.
Velazco said the event would also provide an opportunity for small local businesses to connect directly with potential customers.
“Most of our stallholders are small local businesses, many of them one or two people working from home,” she said.
“A day like this puts them face to face with hundreds of neighbours they might never reach online. Every dollar spent on the day stays local.”
She said the markets would also provide an opportunity for residents to spend time together, particularly in the semi-rural Galston area.
“In a semi-rural area like ours you don’t always bump into your neighbours, and a market gives families, long-time locals and newcomers a reason to spend an afternoon in the same place,” she said.
Families attending the markets can take part in face painting and use the photo booth, while a fenced lawn and children’s play area in the Alfresco will provide space for younger visitors.
On-site parking will be available at The Galston Club, and both cash and card will be accepted at most stalls.
Velazco said the organisers hoped the event could become a regular fixture on the Galston calendar, with the response from stallholders encouraging.
“We’d love to make the markets a regular part of the Galston calendar,” she said.
The Spring Markets ’26 will be held at The Galston Club, 21–25 Arcadia Road, Galston, from 1 PM to 5 PM on Saturday, 17 October. Entry is free.
