Galston Rural Fire Brigade News

It has already been a busy start to the year for the Galston Rural Fire Brigade. Several crew members have been deployed in strike teams across NSW to assist in regional districts, we have had two members pass the heavy vehicle driving test, and we’re focusing on training a further three members into crew leader roles.

We have also seen several total fire ban days already this fire season. A total fire ban means no fires out in the open. A total fire ban helps limit the potential of fires developing. During a Total Fire Ban you cannot light, maintain or use a fire in the open, or to carry out any activity in the open that causes, or is likely to cause, a fire.

It is also important to remember that ALL permits are suspended on total fire ban days. To learn more go to www.rfs.nsw.gov.au.
