GALSTON ROTARY HELPS SECURE LONG TERM – FUNDING FOR YOUTH IN CRISIS

At a recent meeting of Galston Rotary, an officer from Youth Insearch, Jeremy Goff, expressed gratitude to Rotary for arranging a meeting between its CEO Heath Ducker and our local Federal Member Julian Leeser.

Last year, Galston Rotary brought Julian and Heath together as guest speakers on the vital topic of youths in crisis. The result was ongoing meetings that resulted in the government funding that will secure the invaluable work of Youth Insearch for the next three years.

Youth Insearch spokesman Jeremy Goff thanked Galston Rotary for its key support and said the funding will save and transform the lives of countless at risk youths while also saving the taxpayers the staggering amount of at least $100 million annually.

Galston Rotary also presented Jeremy with a cheque for $3000 raised from its Colour Fun Run two weeks ago. The Fun Run, organized by the club’s Community Service Director Kathryn Dickenson, was a great success and an additional $3000 raised there was donated to Galston High School. President Knox Geelan commented that this was an example of the fantastic things Rotary can achieve and he hoped it might inspire more local people to join the Galston Rotary.
