Galston Public School

Galston Public School students are currently enjoying a well deserved Term 2 break. Prior to this term vacation many engaging, busy and enjoyable events occurred.

An Evening of Music was thoroughly enjoyed by parents and visitors alike when Galston Public School band children performed a delightful repertoire of music taught to them by the band tutor Jenny Sparks.

The K-2 Athletics Fun Day and Field Events Carnival was recently held in the school grounds. Well done to all students for their enthusiastic participation and also to those students who had a ‘go’ at the field events for the very first time.

Congratulations to the senior girls Netball team. Against strong opposition they played in the first round of the PSSA Knockout Netball competition. Despite not winning they were without doubt, gracious in defeat. Our team showed impressive sportsmanship with their effort, determination and perseverance as they faced strong competition. Special thanks to Mrs Lacey who assisted on the day with transporting students to and from the venue and Mrs Bolger for umpiring the game.

Still on sport, congratulations to the 38 students who attended the Beecroft PSSA Zone Cross Country Carnival at Fagan Park. All our competitors tried their personal best. A special mention to Sarah B who came 6th in the 11 Years race and Sarah S who came 4th in the 8/9 Years race. These two students have qualified for the upcoming Sydney North PSSA Regional Cross Country.

And even more sporting news. Congratulations, also to our soccer knockout team for their efforts in Round 1. They played like champions despite tough competition against a talented opposition. Another group of fine sporting ambassadors, these boys were for their school.
