GALSTON PUBLIC SCHOOL

GENEROUS DONATIONS from our wonderful parents who supported the Jeans for Genes and Jersey Day SRC Fundraiser enabled $312 to be raised for this excellent cause. Every dollar donated goes directly to the Children’s Medical Research Institute and helps find treatments and cures for children’s genetic diseases.

Congratulations to our Stage 3 debating team who remain undefeated after their most recent debate at Ku-ring-gai PS.

Our kindergarten class KW recently had a funfilled and adventurous day at Calmsley Hill City Farm. The cow milking was certainly a highlight along with witnessing their class teacher, Mrs Bray, crack the whip and watching the working dog show. There were many sleepy heads on the bus on the way home.

Courageous and determined efforts were displayed by Galston Public School’s Athletics Team which competed in the Beecroft PSSA Zone Track carnival. What a fine group of sporting ambassadors these students were. Congratulations to Amber who placed 1st in the 100m sprint and 3rd in the 200m event.

More sporting news. At the Beecroft PSSA Zone Athletics Field Events Carnival a number of students did extremely well with Alannah – 2nd in Long Jump; Amber – 2nd High Jump and 2nd Shot Put; Braeden – 1st High Jump and Sophie – 3rd Shot Put.

At the Hills Public Speaking Competition held this term Billie, Holly, Cooper and Amelie performed incredibly well against representatives from other local schools. We are very proud of their efforts.
