GALSTON PUBLIC SCHOOL

To commemorate Anzac Day our students in the last week of term contributed to the making of beautiful wreaths. Led by our School Captains and Vice Captains Milla, Rhys, Amber and Braeden a very moving ANZAC service and address by Lieutenant Colonel Greg Colton DSM was then held in the school hall.

Also held at the end of the term in the school grounds was the annual Cross Country carnival which involved all students from Kindergarten to Year 6. They participated with great energy and sportsmanship. Students ran their hearts out and used enthusiastic voices to cheer for their respective sport houses. As always, our carnivals are supported by an amazing team of teachers and wonderful parents who assisted as course marshals and also provided the canteen lunches. Staff and students couldn’t do without them!

Students at Galston Public School are now once again on their way to enjoying an exciting and busy Term 2.

Well done to our Stage 3 students who were wonderful ambassadors for their school during their camp to Point Wolstoncroft Sport and Recreation Centre. It was an action-packed three days where they displayed excellent behaviour.

Everyone, including the teachers, came home tired but exhilarated after experiencing this awesome camp.

The talented team of Belinda Nadwie and Elizabeth Eren has been working on the very latest mural, a world map on the Library wall. It is truly AMAZING! On either side of the mural are the four sports houses of Banksia, Boronia, Waratah and Wattle with an accompanying painting of the native flowers for each house.

Thank you to Mrs Crofts, Mrs Taylor and Mrs Turrell for tidying and replanting Chloe’s garden and also to the P&C for their donation which enabled the purchase of plants and edging. This garden is precious to many and the combination of the beautiful artwork on the walls, the fresh plants and new mulch make Chole’s memorial garden an inviting space created in her memory.
