On Thursday 4th February, Galston Netball Club saw its youngest recruits start on their netball journey, led by our Club President, Kate Roberts. It is so exciting to watch these young players take the court, some for the first time ever…I wonder if we have the next Australian Diamond player on our hands??
These 12 girls, all from the Galston/Glenorie/Dural District, headed down to our local netball courts in Galston, to have a “taster” session of netball. Kate was able to put the girls through their paces with some agility work, catch-pass drills, and they even had a mini game against one another. There was a lot of excited squeals as the ball came to the girls and even more giggles when the opportunity came to shoot a goal! Those goal posts are certainly very high! And even harder to get that ball through the hoop! How do the professional players do it so easily, we all wondered?
The Netball season is just around the corner! Why not get involved?
Players from all ages are welcomed!
Training is held at Galston Netball Courts, next to the swimming pool. The season starts late April with NetSetGO games at Pennant Hills Park on a Friday evening, and our U10’s through to adults on Saturdays.
