Christmas seems so long ago already and Club members celebrated together at the lovely Savannah in Mid Dural. Tables were beautifully decorated by our resident florist Gillian & committee members. Underneath twinkling lights in the trees it was a beautiful scene in which to reminisce over the past year while sharing a meal together provided by all members of the club. Wow! Can these people cook as well as garden! It was a delightful evening enjoyed by all and a fitting end to the year.
Garden Club is in recess for January & given the heat, our time will be needed to look after our own gardens, mulching, watering & watering. Hasn’t it been hot!
Our first meeting for 2017 will be on Wednesday 8 th February; this will also be our AGM. We would love to see new members & don’t worry, you won’t be roped in for a job, all Executive positions have now been filled & only need to be voted on. Club meetings give you the opportunity to improve your gardening knowledge and our Social Secretary is again organising some terrific guest speakers & excursions for this year. Of course there is also a wealth of knowledge that you will gain from our friendly members who are only too happy to share their gardening tips. We also have an extensive library that members may borrow from, which has been ably manned by June & Pam for the last few years.
Garden Club meets on the 2nd Weds of the month at the Galston Community Centre 37 Arcadia Rd., Galston 8.00pm, new members are warmly welcomed. For other information, visit our website: www.galstongardenclub.com.au
