The development application for 181 houses along Old Northern Road and Derriwong Road, reported last month as being refused by the Hills Planning Panel, was then approved at the Hills Shire Council Meeting in July. This was an unexpected outcome for many locals, but something the landholders and developers had worked hard to achieve.
As the application is contrary to existing use, the application now has to be assessed by NSW Planning, called Gateway Approval. The application will be put on public exhibition during this process which will allow locals to make a submission if they wish.
