With no competitions at Dural, the ladies are playing in the District Pennant competition. The side of eight (two teams of four), has been playing Grade 1 in the Mitchell District which takes in Blacktown, The Hills and Wentworthville and some closer clubs like Castle Hill and Pennant Hills. While the travelling is timeconsuming and the scoreboard has not always been pretty, the teams are enjoying the challenge of playing teams which include some past and present members of the NSW State squad so the is a lot to be learnt. They are also enjoying visiting other clubs with different greens, socialising after the games and hosting the visiting teams for the return matches.

The men conducted a Mixed Triples Carnival which was very successful and a number of Dural people won prizes. Leone and David Lesslie with Warren Thompson (Pennant Hills) won the event while Diane and Tom Trovato and Ray Vindin came fourth. Christine Fitzgerald, Phil Bonvino and Greg Smith had the top score in the morning session. The gardens were much admired as they had flourished after the recent working bee (above) with a lovely Autumn flush from all the roses.

The last crop of new bowlers is enjoying bowls so the club is ready for more new people who may have lessons from the trained coaches. Ring 0421 315 074 or 0411 375 580.
