60th Anniversary
The Dural Bowling Club’s 60th anniversary was celebrated immediately following the Annual General Meeting, marking a significant milestone in the Club’s long and proud history. Current and former members gathered in the auditorium to honour six decades of bowling, community spirit, and enduring friendships.
The auditorium was elegantly presented in white and gold, complemented by the blue and yellow colours of Parramatta Leagues Club, the Club’s current owner.
This thoughtful presentation created a warm and festive atmosphere befitting the occasion.
Members enjoyed a hot lunch prepared by Club staff, providing an opportunity to reconnect, reminisce, and share stories spanning generations of bowlers. The celebration continued with the cutting of a magnificent blue and yellow anniversary cake by long-standing members Leone Lesslie and Judith Harris, joined by President John Lennon and Past President Robyn Scoble — a symbolic moment linking past leadership with the present.
The day concluded with bowling on the green, followed by a chocolate bar for all, offering a light-hearted and enjoyable finale to a memorable celebration. It was a fitting tribute to the Club’s heritage and the strong community that continues to sustain it.
Major Men Single Finals
The Club extends its congratulations to Graeme Giles, who claimed victory in a tightly contested Men’s Singles Final on Saturday 25th July. Graeme secured the win after a close and skilful match against Glen Davey, with both players demonstrating excellent form throughout the competition. This event concludes another successful Singles Championship, marked by strong participation and high-quality bowling from all entrants.
