Activities usually include exercises (with the guidance of a specially trained Exercise Physiotherapist), art classes, music, games and singing led by our very talented Galston resident Max Cowdroy. Guest speakers are invited to share knowledge and experiences, including members of the group talking about their hobbies and life stories, a visit by Zoe, the beautiful white Labrador with her owner Val, and (of course) morning tea. Friendships grow, and information and resources are shared.
D-Caf is held at the Galston Community Health Centre, 17 Arcadia Road, Galston and is a joint program with KNC and Rotary Club.
KNC Community Care provides social support for older Australians and is a Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) funded by the Department of Health through My Aged Care.
The KNC Community Care Program offers assistance with shopping and transport to essential medical and other appointments for older residents of Sydney North who cannot manage regular transport.
For more details regarding these services and eligibility, please contact Linda Wake, the KNC Volunteer and Transport Coordinator at the Galston Community Health Centre, on 9485 7599 – she would welcome an opportunity to discuss your particular needs.
