KNC GALSTON BASED AT THE GALSTON COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTRE – DCAF GALSTON

Each Monday, from 10am-12pm, the Galston Community Health Centre, the DCaf welcomes people with dementia and a family member/carer to a delightful morning of friendship and activities.

DCaf is held at the Galston Community Health Centre, 17 Arcadia Road, Galston and is a joint program with KNC and Rotary Club.

Zoom meetings have been held since the introduction of COVID-19 restrictions, which are accessible via a computer or most mobiles.

Last Monday, two games of Bingo were played with a yummy box of chocolates awarded to the winner. Activities usually include exercises (with the guidance of a specially trained Exercise Physiologist), art classes, knitting, music and singing led by our very talented Galston resident Max Cowdroy. Guest speakers which include members of the group talking about their hobbies and life stories, a visit by Zoe the beautiful white Labrador with her owner Val, and of course morning tea. Friendships grow and information and resources are shared.
