COMMUNITY CELEBRATES AND RAISES MUCH NEEDED FUNDS FOR LOCAL FIRIES

What an amazing turnout for the Glenorie Community Carols event at the Glenorie RSL with over 500 locals attending. Gathering together to catch up with friends, neighbours and families is what our community does so well, and this year it was also to raise money for the local RFS. With the Glenorie RSL matching donations given on the day, a total of $10,100 was raised. Super effort by everyone who attended and donated.

Well done to the Glenorie Mission Church for organising the event. Most of the singers and entertainers were local people and it was great to see the audience participation. The visit from Santa was eagerly awaited and did not disappoint. Our local RFS guys were amazing, they attended the Glenorie Growers market in the morning, the carols in the afternoon, and they were back on duty fighting fires the next day.

A big thanks must go to each and every RFS brigade for their Santa runs throughout our local villages, even though many were exhausted from the bushfire duties, these events still went ahead.
