Chippies for Charity

Valuable connections and friendships are being forged between Year 5 students at Hills Grammar and their new friends in the Solomon Islands. The SEAT project is one that will continue over a couple of years, yet already there’s great excitement in the School’s Centre of Innovation and Creativity. Last week boxes of books were sorted and packed up for the Lions Club Parramatta to collect and transport to a new community school in the Solomons. This week, the students started working collaboratively on building their special seats which will be the focus of the project which enables students to see first-hand that solutions and effective actions are possible; to feel a sense of optimism for the future.

The project fits in perfectly with the School’s International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program and STEM teachings.
