The next Bromeliad Society of Australia meeting will be on Saturday 19th March which is the third Saturday (not the usual second).

Plant sales are from 10am with the meeting commencing at 12noon. The meeting will held in the Federation Pavilion, Castle Hill Showground, off Showground Road into Doran Drive, Castle Hill.

We will be discussing how to prepare Bromeliads for our coming Show on Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th May.  The presentation would also suit home gardeners wanting to establish a semi tropical look garden, that’s low maintenance using Bromeliads.

Also, we look at  the same plant grown in different conditions, showing the differences which can be achieved. Some people like to grow plants in different conditions to gain a desired effect, as many home gardeners may do. But that may not be correct for showing purposes.

How to choose a plant and prepare it for show, what type of container is suitable, cleaning your plant, how to trim damage without compromising the plant and more.

See example photos of the same plant, Neoregelia ‘Dr Jeffrey Block’, grown in very contrasting condition, giving varied results.

BSA Meetings include plant sales, club news, raffles and competitions as well as providing an opportunity to meet with like-minded people in a friendly and inviting environment. Contact Ian Hook – mobile 0408202269, email:[email protected] website: www.bromeliad.org.au
