Bromeliad Society of Australia – How to Mount Bromeliads for Display

The Bromeliad Society of Australia will hold their next meeting at the Federation Pavilion, Castle Hill Showground on Saturday, 11 August with plant sales commencing at 11am prior to the meeting.

Access is via the new Showground entrance off Showground Road into Doran Drive, Castle Hill with plenty of parking on site.

At this meeting there will be a practical hands-on workshop where everyone

who wishes to learn how to mount small bromeliads will have an opportunity to do so.

Executive members of the Bromeliad society will demonstrate how to mount mini neoregelias and tillandsias onto driftwood using the tools and equipment required to complete the task.

Following the demonstration members and guests will proceed to workstations where they can try for themselves.

The driftwood will be supplied plus some of the mini neoregelias and tillandsias for the practice session. However, if you have a favourite mini that you would like to mount or if you have any spare small plants to share please bring them along.

There are a limited number of drills, pliers, wire and glue so also bring along these items if you’re willing to share, as it would be appreciated, so why not come along and have a go?

BSA meetings include interesting guest speakers, plant sales, club news, raffles and competitions as well as providing an opportunity to meet with like-minded people in a friendly and inviting environment. Contact Ian Hook – mobile 0408 202 269, email: [email protected]. Visit www.bromeliad.org.au
