Brave Students Shave for A Cure

On Wednesday, 3rd May, the Galston High School’s Student Representative Council held its annual World’s Greatest Shave event.

The World’s Greatest Shave is a charitable event held every year across Australia, organised by the Leukaemia Foundation. Participants fundraise by shaving or colouring their hair, demonstrating solidarity with those experiencing hair loss due to cancer treatment. The event raises funds and awareness for blood cancer research, patient support, and related services.

The school’s event was held in the quadrangle at lunchtime, and it was amazing to see the support from students for our brave students who were shaving to support the cause. The students who shaved their heads were Lachlan Wilson, Lachlan Chapman, Tahlia Loftus, Hayden Ellison, Liam Stewart, Harlen Noyce, and Cooper Alexis.

These students’ bravery and fundraising efforts were incredible, with their willingness to shave showing their commitment to making a difference in the lives of others. Their participation in the World’s Greatest Shave is a testament to their character and compassion.

The school would especially like to thank Cameron from Cam & Co Salon in Galston, who kindly volunteered his time and skills to shave the students’ heads on the day. Galston High School truly appreciates the support of the community.
